BLACKMORE GESTALT THERAPY

Gestalt Therapy – Arriving in the Here and Now

Perhaps you recognise this situation…

Everything is “fine” – and yet it doesn’t feel good.

You function in everyday life, get things done, take on responsibilities. From the outside, everything appears stable. And at the same time, there is this sense of emptiness, restlessness or inner distance. As if you are not quite present – or no longer truly connected to yourself.

You feel stuck in a transition.

A separation, a professional change, an important decision is coming up – or has already been made. On a rational level, you know why this step makes sense, and yet fear, doubt or grief are mixed in. What is old and familiar no longer feels right; what is new is not yet tangible.

You keep encountering the same limits in relationships.

You adapt, endure, explain a lot – and at some point realise that there is hardly any space left for your own needs. Setting boundaries feels difficult; feelings of guilt arise quickly. And yet, inwardly, a desire for greater clarity and self-respect grows.

You react more strongly than you can understand yourself.

A situation in the here and now triggers anger, withdrawal or a sense of powerlessness that feels “too much”. Afterwards, you wonder why you reacted in that way. As if something from the past had taken over – even though you would actually like to act differently.

Gestalt therapy –
a space in the here and now

Perhaps you find yourself in a completely different situation and notice that “more space” for your thoughts and feelings could help you deal with your current life circumstances. Gestalt therapy offers this respectful, appreciative space to consciously perceive your own experience in the here and now – and, in this way, to enter an inner process of change.
